Sizing & Fit

What size should I order?

The Field Commander fits true to size for most people. If you have wide feet or plan to wear thick wool socks, we suggest sizing up half a size. We include a size guide on the product page with foot length measurements if you want to be precise.

Do you make boots for women?

The Field Commander is a men's sizing boot. Women should generally size down 1.5 to 2 sizes from their women's size. A women's 9 would order a men's 7. If you're unsure, email us and we'll help you figure it out.

Can I wear them with thick socks?

Yes, and we recommend it for cold weather. The neoprene liner adds warmth on its own, but pairing with a good merino wool or heavy synthetic sock makes these comfortable well below freezing.

The Boot

Are these boots really 100% waterproof?

The shell is full natural rubber — no seams below the opening, no stitching that can wick. If water gets in, it came over the top. The only way to get wet feet in these is to step into water deeper than 16 inches.

How do I clean them?

Rinse with a hose after heavy use. For caked mud, a stiff brush and water handles everything. The removable footbed comes out and machine washes on cold — air dry. Don't leave boots in direct sun for extended periods as UV will eventually degrade the rubber compound.

How long will they last?

Under normal farm use, 3–5 years is typical. We've had customers on year six. The most common failure point is the sole-to-upper bond, which is covered by our 2-year structural warranty. Regular rinsing and keeping them out of extreme prolonged UV extends life significantly.

Are they good in cold weather?

The neoprene liner provides real warmth down to about 20°F with a moderate wool sock. For sustained sub-zero work, add a heavy insulated sock. The natural rubber compound we use stays flexible at low temperatures — it won't crack or stiffen the way synthetic rubber does in January.
